Restoration, preservation, and production

2007 – 2008: The restoration of a monumental church mosaic of over 500m2 in size, made originally in 1988, was initiated and completed. The mosaic had been intended for the Franciscan Church in Mostar, but it was stored in the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Zagreb because of the war. Due to inappropriate storage conditions in the church, it was completely damaged and had to be restored in its entirety. The process was documented in film by Edo Galić, and both the film and the mosaic were commissioned by monsignor Mijo Gabrić.

2008: According to original sketches by Edo Murtić, three mosaics were made with the aim of including them in a collection for donation.

2012 – 2013: The restoration of a mosaic at the memorial ossuary in Čazma was initiated and completed in cooperation with the Croatian Conservation Institute.

2013 – 2015: The restoration of enamel murals at Tuhelj was initiated and completed.

2015: The project of producing ceramic plates based on original sketches of Edo Murtić was initiated. The production is still ongoing, and 12 different motives have been realized until now.

2017 – 2018: The preservation, restoration, and relocation of a large mosaic of Edo Murtić from the Main Post Office Palace in Rijeka is under way.

2017 – 2018: Studio Murtić was hired as a contractor at the restoration of a monumental ceramic frieze by Edo Murtić at the Croatia osiguranje building in Pula. The project was successfully completed.

2019: The creation of ceramic murals based on the author’s sketches is currently under way. The aim is to include the murals in the future collection of the Murtić Foundation, and part of it is intended for donation. The project is expected to finish in 2021.

2021: The production of new graphic prints based on original motives by Edo Murtić is currently in preparation.
